These High End luxury Electric Cars Are Coming To Compete With Tesla (Photos)

Unlike the smartphone industry, the automotive industry is undergoing rapid changes and innovations. When Tesla started producing electric cars, all other major car manufacturers were laughing at Tesla because it was slow, has low distance range, smallish in size and looks weird. They thought electric car production will never be profitable and will just be a huge waste of money and resources. After a while the technology improved, rumors began to spread that these new electric cars from Tesla are fast, strong, lasts longer and have high distance range. The cars started selling so well that Tesla find it so difficult to met up with the demands. It became almost impossible to ignore electric car production and now major car companies have stopped laughing at Tesla and gone fully into electric car production because they don’t want to miss out on the huge market. In this post I will be listing top high end electric cars that can compete with Tesla in the EV market.

JAGUAR i-PACE

Jaguar is known as a strict luxury car maker! They don’t have the average class in minds at all, lol. Built from the ground up, the New Jaguar I‑PACE is a pure Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Thrilling to look at and drive. One full charge provides a range of up to 240 miles and it can reach an acceleration of 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. It has DC fast charge which charges the car in just over 2 hrs.

2. PORSCHE MISSION E

The Mission-E is the direct competitor to the Tesla Model X and Roadster. It is the fastest on my list with 0-100KM/HR (0-62MPH) in just 3.6 seconds. It has a top speed of 250KM/HR. This car has an inbuilt cooling technology to prevent overheating. It takes just 15 minutes to charge this car from 0-80%.. The range of the Porsche Mission E is said to be 500KM . The price starts at $75,000.

3. HYUNDAI KONA

Hyundai is also making a bold move into the electric vehicle market with the KONA EV. It has a 64KWh battery pack which can last for up to 470KM. It takes just 1 hour to charge this car from 0-80% thanks to it’s fast DC charge technology. The price for the Hyundai Kona is set at $45,000.

4. ASTON MARTIN RAPIDE

The British automaker Aston Martin is said to be making an all electric version of it’s car the RAPIDE as part of its second century plan initiative. The company is teaming up with Chinese smartphone makers LeEco to make this car. It will have 6KW of power in an all wheel drive format. It will also have a 320 KM range on a single charge. It is going to be a limited production as only 155 cars will be made. The price? $250,000.

5. Mercedes Benz EQC

DAIMLER has dived headlong into the electric car market by unleashing the agressive looking Mercedes Benz EQC EV SUV. Of course the Specs include two electric motors, 408hp and four-wheel drive. It is said to have a range of 280 miles on a single charge and the price is pegged around $76,000 for the base model. Release date is early 2019.

6. AUDI E-TRON QUATTRO

German automakers Audi is definitely not missing out on this lucrative electric car market as it has launched the AUDI E-TRON QUATTRO luxury SUV which the company says the car has 3 powerful engines. One electric motor drives the front axle, the two others act on the rear axle for a total output of 320 kW. The driver can even mobilise 370 kW and over 800 Nm (590.0 lb-ft) of torque temporarily while boosting. The concept study thus performs like a sports car. When the driver floors the right pedal, the Audi e-tron quattro concept sprints from a standstill to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 4.6 seconds and quickly reaches the electronically governed top speed of 210 km/h (130.5 mph). Price starts at $100,000.

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the cancellation of May 29 as the country’s annual Democracy Day. Why It Is Not Safe To Drive With A Donut Spare Tyre That Comes With Most New Car

Most modern cars (except for the 4×4 SUVs, bigger vans and pickups) now come with the space-saving donut tyres instead of the normal full-sized spares tyres  They are made in order to cut cost, car weight and save space in the boot . It is preferred to the heavier standard full-size tyres which creates drag and increase in fuel consumption. But they are not meant to be permanent replacements for the standard full-sized tyres. They are mainly designed to be used as a spare tyre to get you to the nearest service station or local vulcaniser where the flat tyre can be  fixed and reinstalled as soon as possible. Here are a few things to note when forced to drive with a donut tyre 1)Donut spare tyre should not be driven faster than 50 mph or 80 kph. If you are forced to use it , it is best to get it replaced as soon as possible. 2) The safe air pressure recommended for the donut tyre is 60 pounds per square inch (psi). Exceeding the 60 psi may cause explosion and acc...
