Supporters forced to sleep on airport floor as flight delays strand fans in Kiev

Celebrations of Gareth Bale's sensational brace which handed Real Madrid their third successive Champions League continued long into the morning in Kiev, especially after a number of fans were left stranded in Ukraine after their flights were delayed.
The logistics of travelling to Kiev had been challenging throughout much of the build-up to Saturday's final at the Olympic Stadium, with 1000 Spanish supporters forced to return their match tickets to the club due to an inability to make travel arrangements.
Liverpool supporters were too left disappointed after several flights were cancelled in the days leading up to kick off, due to difficulties with airport landing spaces in the Ukrainian capital.
A rapid inflation of prices to rent hotel rooms had seen thousands of supporters from both teams travel without accommodation arrangements, and hundreds of fans were forced to sleep in the airport on Sunday morning.
Each flight was on average late by two hours, yet it was the lack of information relayed to passengers which was a problem, with individuals forced to ask for information at multiple travel desks throughout the airport, a situation that clearly nobody was prepared for.
