France Football apologise to Iniesta for never awarding him a Ballon d'Or

In the latest edition of France Football, the magazine has apologised to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta for never awarding him the Ballon d'Or.

Editor Pascal Ferre penned an editorial opinion piece entitled 'Forgive Us Andres', in which they said sorry for the "democratic anomaly".

The article praised the work and career of the wizard of Fuentealbilla and has left the door open to him lifting the award in 2018, if he has a good World Cup with La Roja.

Among the compliments paid to the midfielder, who will this week announce his decision to move to China at the end of the season, are those praising his intelligence.

"Iniesta has proven that the brain is definitely the most important thing when it comes to champions," Ferre wrote.

It should be remembered that he was close to winning the award after the World Cup in 2010, when he scored the winner in the final, but finished second in the voting behind Lionel Messi and in front of Xavi Hernandez.
